Born on May 24, 1878 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Jack Pfiester (John Albert Pfiester) played for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Chicago Cubs over the course of his 8 year career. Pfiester broke into the bigs on September 8, 1903 with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and put up a 1.51 ERA in 250.2 innings pitched in 1906, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Jack Pfiester's best season was 1906, when he posted a 1.51 ERA, won 20 games and struck out 153 batters.
