Jack Ness (John Charles Ness) was born on November 11, 1885 in Chicago, Illinois. He made his Major League debut on May 9, 1911 for the Detroit Tigers. In 1916, his rookie year, he hit .267 with 1 home run and 34 RBI. Ness played for the Detroit Tigers and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 2 year career.
