Born on March 23, 1932 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Jack Meyer (John Robert Meyer) played for the Philadelphia Phillies for his entire 7 year career. Meyer broke into the bigs on April 16, 1955 with the Philadelphia Phillies, and put up a 3.43 ERA in 110.1 innings pitched in 1955, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Jack Meyer's best season was 1955, when he posted a 3.43 ERA, notched 16 saves and struck out 97 batters.
