Jack Merson (John Warren Merson) was born on January 17, 1922 in Elkridge, Maryland. He made his Major League debut on September 14, 1951 for the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 1952, his rookie year, he hit .246 with 5 home runs and 38 RBI. Merson played for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Boston Red Sox over the course of his 3 year career.
