Jack Mead (John M. Mead) was born on April 18, 1921 in Appleton, Wisconsin. Mead attended the University of Wisconsin. Mead made his professional debut in the NFL in 1946 with the New York Giants. He played for the New York Giants for his entire 2 year career.

Most people believe that 1947 was Jack Mead's best year.
