Jack McGeachey (John Charles McGeachey) was born on May 13, 1864 in Clinton, Massachusetts. He made his Major League debut on June 17, 1886 for the St. Louis Maroons. In 1886, his rookie year, he hit .217 with 2 home runs and 28 RBI. McGeachey played for the St. Louis Maroons, Detroit Wolverines, Indianapolis Hoosiers, Brooklyn Wonders, Philadelphia Athletics and Boston Reds over the course of his 6 year career.

Most people believe that Jack McGeachey's best season was 1889, when he stole 37 bases and knocked in 63 runs.
