Born on April 26, 1918 in San Antonio, Texas, Jack Kraus (John William Kraus) played for the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Giants over the course of his 3 year career. Kraus broke into the bigs on April 25, 1943 with the Philadelphia Phillies, and put up a 3.16 ERA in 199.2 innings pitched in 1943, his rookie year.
