Born on January 5, 1918 in New Orleans, Louisiana, Jack Kramer (John Henry Kramer) played for the St. Louis Browns, Boston Red Sox, New York Giants and New York Yankees over the course of his 12 year career. Kramer broke into the bigs on April 25, 1939 with the St. Louis Browns, and put up a 5.83 ERA in 211.2 innings pitched in 1939, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Jack Kramer's best season was 1944, when he posted a 2.49 ERA, won 17 games and struck out 124 batters.
