Jack Ernst (John Oliver Ernst) was born on December 4, 1899 in Llewellyn, Pennsylvania. After going to high school at South (Youngstown, OH), Ernst attended Lafayette College. Ernst made his professional debut in the NFL in 1925 with the Pottsville Maroons. He played for the Pottsville Maroons, Frankford Yellow Jackets and Boston Bulldogs over the course of his 6 year career.
