Jack Dittmer (John Douglas Dittmer) was born on January 10, 1928 in Elkader, Iowa. He made his Major League debut on June 17, 1952 for the Boston Braves. In 1952, his rookie year, he hit .193 with 7 home runs and 41 RBI. Dittmer played for the Boston Braves, Milwaukee Braves and Detroit Tigers over the course of his 6 year career.
Most people believe that Jack Dittmer's best season was 1953, when he knocked in 63 runs.
