Jack Depler (John Charles Depler) was born on January 6, 1899 in Lewistown, Illinois. After going to high school at Lewiston (IL), Depler attended the University of Illinois. Depler made his professional debut in the APFA in 1921 with the Hammond Pros. He played in the APFA for 1 year, playing for the Hammond Pros the entire time. Depler also played in the NFL for 1 year, playing for the Orange Tornadoes the entire time.
