Born on October 16, 1936 in Greenville, Ohio, Jack Baldschun (Jack Edward Baldschun) played for the Philadelphia Phillies, Cincinnati Reds and San Diego Padres over the course of his 9 year career. Baldschun broke into the bigs on April 28, 1961 with the Philadelphia Phillies, and put up a 3.88 ERA in 99.2 innings pitched in 1961, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Jack Baldschun's best season was 1963, when he posted a 2.30 ERA, won 11 games, notched 16 saves and struck out 89 batters.
