Jack Atchason (John Dean Atchason) was born on November 16, 1936 in Springfield, Illinois. After going to high school at Phelps (Washington, DC), Atchason attended Western Illinois University. Atchason made his professional debut in the AFL in 1960 with the Houston Oilers. He played for the Houston Oilers for his entire 1 year career.
