Born on July 13, 1940 in Tulare, California, Jack Aker (Jackie Delane Aker) played for the Kansas City Athletics, Oakland Athletics, Seattle Pilots, New York Yankees, Chicago Cubs, New York Mets and Atlanta Braves over the course of his 11 year career. Aker broke into the bigs on May 3, 1964 with the Kansas City Athletics, and put up a 3.16 ERA in 51.1 innings pitched in 1965, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Jack Aker's best season was 1966, when he posted a 1.99 ERA, notched 32 saves and struck out 68 batters.
