JJ Redick Sees Limited Court Time in Magic's Push to Prevent Him From Taking Over As the Face of the Franchise

In a strategic power play, the Orlando Magic Organization have limited JJ Redick's playing in an attempt to prevent Redick from taking away Dwight Howard’s limelight as the face of the team. Confidential information recently appeared explaining the reasons for Redick’s lack of playing time.

“He is seen as too strong of a player, with the ability to take over game as well as wooing and wowing the crowd,” stated a Magic insider. “We are committed to Dwight and we are not going to let some number eleven draft pick come in and steal his thunder. We don’t care how well known his is, what his credentials are, or whether or not he can help the team. Dwight is the franchise! Dwight comes first. Winning comes second.”

With Redick seeing more and more playing time as of late, it looks as though Dwight could soon be in trouble. The fans are amazed at Redick’s ability to shoot, a skill Dwight has yet to master.

If Redick’s recent success continues there is a can guarantee that he won’t be see on the floor much longer. With Redick scoring 12 against the Knicks Monday night, look for him to be bench the next game with the threat of back to back double digit performances. Too many more commendable games and Redick will finish the season how he started, injured and benched.

Yeah, but 12 pts against the Knicks is like 40 against any other non-playoff time.

BTW - this type of story can do a lot of damage for armchairgm. First, who is the author of this? Second, who is the insider? Third, was this confirmed by a second source? This type of story may be fun to read, but can do great harm to armchairgm.com.

Are you kidding? We cracked the egg of truth here! In a world where it's print first, believe second... this smacks of blatent absolutes!

-OF COURSE they have been holding JJ back! -OF COURSE he would be the face of the franchise -OF COURSE he's so talented he will make us forget every player before him.

but WHY do that to a nice guy like Dwight Howard?

JJ is evil and we need to supress his awesomeness for the good of the history books! I want my kids to grow up knowing of Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlain. If JJ gets quality run, the world will never be the same!

I chuckled at the headline when I first read it as well. And trust me, I am no fan of JJ either. However, for the good of the site, you got to watch how such an article is presented. If this is meant to be taken seriously, you got to do it the right way. If it is meant to be humorous, then put a disclaimer in it - i.e., listing it under Humor in the category section below.

It's a great title, an awesome idea that I'm jealous I didn't think of A LONG TIME AGO and I commend the effort... clap, clap, clap Now to go Simon Cowell on it - Yes, take credit dear author! Some more content, clearer conveyance and MORE "Insider info", maybe a fearful reaction from teammates, or a Grant Hill quote like "I'm so scared of how good he is, I've hurt myself on purpose and will retire" would make this a true masterpiece.

IF there is a shred of truth to the quote about the Magic's organization, that would just be deplorable.

Now, let's face it; we all know if JJ Redick was on the floor more, he would actually help Howard and his game, much less the thing called the Magic team. In the end, it would all be ironic.

Howard is slowly becoming a second tier star in the NBA, which is a damned shame. His potential is downright sick.
