Selected by Hamilton in the first round (fourth overall) in the 2007 CFL Canadian Draft.
College:
Played four seasons (2003-06) with the University of Toledo Rockets…played 39 career games, making 22 starts at defensive end…made 74 total tackles (22 solo) including 9.5 for 22 yards in losses and 3.5 quarterback sacks…was a member of the Rockets 2004 Mid-American Conference championship team.
Personal:
John Paul Bekasiak was born January 1st, 1982 in Windsor, Ontario...son of Anthony and Grace Bekasiak...has one brother and two sisters…played high school football at St. Anne High School...also played for AKO Fratmen in the Canadian Junior Football League...played for coach John Celestino at St. Anne and coach John Bloomfield in junior league football.
