J.D. Closser (Jeffrey Darrin Closser) was born on January 15, 1980 in Beech Grove, Indiana. He made his Major League debut on June 30, 2004 for the Colorado Rockies. In 2005, his rookie year, he hit .219 with 7 home runs and 27 RBI. Closser played for the Colorado Rockies for his entire 3 year career.
