Its Official: Garnett to Boston!

At 6:05PM eastern time on July 30th a trade between Boston and Minnesota was finalized, Kevin Garnett the ten time All-Star is heading to Boston this season, in return Minnesota received Gerald Green, Al Jefferson, as well as another mediocore name.  Now Boston seems like the best in the east on paper, despite lacking a strong center and Point Guard, Boston is ready to challenge every team in the east for that Eastern Conference trophy.  Is Boston ready to make this all-star trio work?

Personally as a Celtics fan I believe if the staff over in Boston can get these three to work together and than upgrade the rest of their team Boston may go to the Finals, however unless the west sends a underdog this year I do not see Boston wining the NBA Finals but I see them winning the Eastern Conference Finals.

I think the biggest news of the trade is that Garnett will agree to an extension. Jackie MacMullen from the Boston Globe said on Sportscenter that the Celtics would not complete the deal until Garnett agreed to an extension. If that is true, then it makes the deal much better.

Yes, Garnett's contract runs out next year, so it would be ridiculous to trade basically the entire future of the franchise for one year with KG. They will probably sign him to a 3-4 year deal. Mike, I love the excitement, but you need to take a deep breath. It remains to be if three All-Stars, a point guard who can't score and no center can win the East. But I am very excited.

LeBron James proved that you can win the Eastern Conference with one superstar and the appropriate role players...I think this is a great move for Boston, especially if they can fill the three roster spots with some good role players to surround KG with

First the Spurs won for lots of reasons, they played Cleveland first off which is a one man show, they had Manu on the bench so when Duncan or Parker sits down someone can come in. Than Fabricio really stepped up at center.
