It should have happened in '86, maybe this year? Mets-Angels world series

This year, unlike last, the Mets have faced adversity and have actually had to scrap to struggle back after prolonged team slumps.
It might put them in a better position for this year's post season. Since the hitting is coming around, this will help them against the Padres' and Dodgers' strong pitching.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles formerly of Anaheim, could have been of Orange County, one-time California Angels seem to be the class of the AL. Sorry Red sock and Yankee fans.
In 1986, I hoped for a Mets-Angels series. They came into existence at the same time (Ok, the Angels one year earlier), they both played in the shadow of the other, more prominent teams in their cities and they once shared a hugely lopsided trade, with the Mets giving the Angels their first Hall of Fame player. But it was not to be. And we all know what became of Donnie Moore, the goat of game 5.
More importantly, I remember seeing "Lost in Space" when I was a little kid. The Robinson family visited a hermit on a planet who used to spy on earth and was a baseball fanatic. He was poring over the world series statistics and said "...the 1987 world series. That was a great one. Between the California Angels and the New York Mets." The joke is that back when the series was shot, 1967 or so, the Mets and Angels were bottom dwellers.
And of course, one big reason for me to hope for this series is that my home is less than 30 miles from the big A.
Let's go!
