With all of the talk for potential trades for goaltending, the Tampa Bay Lightning has what the Phoenix Coyotes need - a strong play maker.
Plus, the Tampa Bay Lightning has not had the ability to draft well and they are very weak in their development systems. So, what does Lightning General Manager Jay Feaster do?
Share with the league that Lightning Center Brad Richards could be offered to those holding the top three picks (Philadelphia, Chicago, and Phoenix).
He obviously has the qualities the Coyotes covet: strong skater, can quarterback the power play, solid playoff experience, and a definite playmaker. In addition, he is the right age that can add definite depth and leadership to a growing franchise.
The tough question: is it worth giving up the number one pick and carrying his salary of $7.8 million per year?
