It's Official: Indians Give Up on Season

When a team can't win against the Brandon McCarthy's of the world, their either: A) Not a good team, or B) Not playing well.
Unfortunately for the Cleveland Indians the story of the last 14 days has been that of the latter. There should not be a single fan satisfied right now. A team with such high aspirations (and a month ago, I would have said such high potential) cannot hit a slump like this.
Fausto Carmona threw a gem of a game, and the bats just weren't there to help him. Those same bats that the Tribe is allegedly built on. Peralta, Hafner, and Martinez went on an ofer parade, while Grady sqeaked out a single knock. Let me reiterate... against Brandon McCarthy. Who hasn't won a game since May. Well done. Well done.
And with no other news from the trading block as the deadline has come and passed... one has to wonder if the Indians have given up.
Don't get me wrong, Kenny Lofton was a nice aquisition, but he's not gonna bust a team out of a rut.
