Issue Number 6: And On The 12th Day Of November, Kornheiser Marched Into Town

by The Ironman Jeff Garcia

In the Land of Tonys, I'd pick Kornheiser over Danza or Soprano. If I wasn't here at work, I'd try to find Tony at a nearby restaurant in Seattle and just see if I can hang out with the man.

Here are some thoughts over the weekend of sports.

Melissa Theuriau. Wouldn't you pay attention to the sideline reports if she were doing them?

I Think Peyton Could Use A Priceless Pep Talk
Thanks for making my fantasy team look like flaming bull turd, you jerk. I needed you to be perfect since my opponent for the week had Tony Romo and he decided to be a jerk and throw 4 touchdowns. So what do you, number 18 do? Throw 6 interceptions. Bravo good sir, bravo.

Jake Locker Does His Best Stone Cold Steve Austin, Suffers Stinger
It's fortunate that Locker did not suffer a life-altering injury. But at the same time, I can't see a reason the Huskies should play Locker the rest of the season once he's cleared to do so. Outside of him getting experience, there's no need to play him. The Huskies are not bowl-eligible and I think it'd be best to just let him heal.

Ron Zook Thinks Scarlet Red Sweatervests Are For Ninnies
Any team that is nicknamed The Fighting Zooks, you have to automatically root for them as chances are, they will always be the underdog not just in any game, but life in general. And on Saturday night, The Fighting Zooks went to Ohio State and gave not just the Buckeye Nation, but the BCS one giant middle finger. Now the floor is open as to who will meet up in the BCS National Championship, which still leaves the smallest of hopes for...

Who Does Colt Brennan Have To Blow With To Move Up In The BCS
Alright, we can argue about strength of schedule and/or the conference that they play in, but honestly, if Hawaii runs the table and goes undefeated for the season, which I'm hoping they should and there aren't any other undefeateds around, they should have the chance to play for the National Championship. If there weren't any undefeateds in college football then sure, let a computer decide who plays in the big game, which even then never seems to get it right. But I just think if a team goes undefeated, regardless of who they played, they should still have a chance at the top prize. It's one thing to say a pass-heavy offense would most likely get crushed by a powerful defense, but then again, it's all talk. Running a simulation using NCAA Football is no way to support a claim like that. I say let an offense like Hawaii go up against a defense like LSU and let it be for the National Championship. What? Are people afraid that since no one can name five guys that play for Hawaii, no one will watch it? Baloney, I say.

Don't Make Me Choose Between Verne Lundquist And Call Of Duty 4
Honestly, I was suprised I was able to find time to watch the college and pro football games this weekend. For those that have it, isn't Call Of Duty 4 downright addicting? I mean I almost missed out on another Erin Andrews job...reporting that is as well as the voice of college sports, Verne Lundquist. I gotta say Lundquist is one of my favorite, if not my favorite play-by-play guy. If you were to ask me, my ideal commentating team for a sports game would be Verne Lundquist, Tony Kornheiser and of course as the sideline reporter, Erin Andrews.

At least for now it'd be Erin Andrews.

However, all bets are off if Melissa Theuriau ever became a sideline reporter.
