Is rugby truly the game played in heaven?

There's a term that's often coined by rugby fans in Australia "the game played in heaven". If getting knocked out by 250 pound players is your idea of heaven, count me out!
Rugby has always been a sport that I've always had little interest in. Personally I can't help but think that rugby is a weird sport with its plays. I find it hard to understand why after a try is scored they have a shot at goal. Seems gay to me. Contrary to what you may think, rugby is not super popular throughout Australia. It is popular in the states of New South Wales and Queensland but not in the other states and territories where Australian football is the more popular code, including my home state, Victoria. Rugby is pretty popular across the Tasman in New Zealand though. The Melbourne Storm appeared in this year's NRL Grand Final. We lost 15-8 and I was outraged by the poor calls, I was even thinking at the time that it was a worse injustice than what happened to the Socceroos in the Round-of-16 game against Italy in the 2006 FIFA World Cup. I've always considered rugby to be a weird sport, never really understood it. I like rugby league better than rugby union though (rugby union is what they play in the United States and the Rugby World Cup and is way more popular around the world compared to rugby league) as rugby league seems more exciting and rugby union is kind of like watching British Bulldog in a way! And Jonny Wilkinson's drop goal in extra time in the 2003 Rugby World Cup Final breaking Australian hearts on Australian soil doesn't help either! American and Canadian football is much easier to understand and quicker to learn. Even to this day I don't understand all of the complicated rules in rugby (i.e. 40-20, knock-on, etc.).
