Irving Spikes (Irving E. Spikes) was born on December 21, 1970 in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. After going to high school at Ocean Springs (MS), Spikes attended the University of Alabama and the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Spikes made his professional debut in the NFL in 1994 with the Miami Dolphins. He played for the Miami Dolphins for his entire 4 year career.
Most people believe that 1996 was Irving Spikes's best year, as he had 681 kick return yards.
