Born on March 9, 1890 in Lancaster, New York, Iron Davis (George Allen Davis) played for the New York Highlanders and Boston Braves over the course of his 4 year career. Davis broke into the bigs on July 16, 1912 with the New York Highlanders, and put up a 6.50 ERA in 54 innings pitched in 1912, his rookie year.
