Born on August 31, 1910 in Chicago, Illinois, Ira Hutchinson (Ira Kendall Hutchinson) played for the Chicago White Sox, Boston Braves, Brooklyn Dodgers and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 8 year career. Hutchinson broke into the bigs on September 24, 1933 with the Chicago White Sox, and put up a 3.73 ERA in 91.2 innings pitched in 1937, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Ira Hutchinson's best season was 1938, when he posted a 2.74 ERA.
