Ira Gordon (Ira Laverne Gordon) was born on May 5, 1947 in Kilbourne, Louisiana. After going to high school at Combs-McIntyre (Oak Grove, LA), Gordon attended Kansas State University and Phoenix College. Gordon made his professional debut in the NFL in 1970 with the San Diego Chargers. He played for the San Diego Chargers for his entire 6 year career.
