Sugar Shane. ArmchairGM Nation.
Okay! Now that we've got the introductions out of the way, I want to provide you a little bit of what I can bring to the table here at ArmchairGM. First of all, I was asked by Dan Lewis to join the ArmchairGM community, and I was much obliged. I'm glad to be here, and I hope I can generate some interest in my posts.
I maintain my own, independent blog over at the aptly named Sugar Shane's Sports Blog. You'll find that my style there will be the same as is it here. In fact, my first several posts here will likely be cross-published with those at my blog at least until I become more familiar with this site and with my audience.
So, what is my style? Well, I enjoy reading Bill Simmons over at ESPN. You may see a little bit of his style come out in my writing. I have a degree in Business Economics and have a moderate interest in baseball statistics. I apologize in advance, but most everything I write will have some sort of numbers associated with it. You won't need a calculator or a degree in calculus to follow along though.
My passion is baseball. Most of my posts will be baseball-related. I love Ken Griffey Jr. He is my all-time favorite player and hero. You will see the occassional Griffey post from me as well. In fact, I've got the Unofficial Griffey Watch going on over at my blog right now, counting down his pursuit of 600 home runs (14 to go!).
Although I'm a native of the Pittsburgh area, I am a huge fan of the Red Sox and Patriots. If you are haters of each, I recommend one of two things: 1) don't read me, or 2) foe me! If you are a fan, I trust that you will enjoy my material.
My main goal is to assemble some sort of regular readership, either here or over at my blog. I hope that you will find my writing enjoyable, insightful, and, at times, witty.
I'm glad to be a member of the ArmchairGM community. I will be posting some new material in the very near future. Until then, please feel free to head on over to my blog.
