Indians strand playoff hopes

Yes, there's still a lot of games, and at this point we are only a half game behind the Tigers in the AL Central, and the Tigers are coming for a 2-game set to the Jake next. Above that, we keep on telling ourselves that the offense will start getting those hits again. But, in my heart of hearts I feel that the turning point, and the reason there will be no playoffs this season was a particular play in the 5th.
Bases loaded, no outs. Jhonny Peralta gets picked off at 1st, sacrifice fly, fielders choice. And there you go, after such a promising start, the Indians score one on a great opportunity and leave the rest on. What they left on were their playoff hopes. The Yankees, although playing well, aren't supposed to be that much better than the Indians, but Cleveland just blew it. They could feel the noose tightening, and they can't do a thing.
For a while, I'd been scared that we won't make the playoffs. I'm not scared anymore that we won't, I'm convinced. And just like that, I'm in football season.
I realize, that this kind of post should really be on Ohio Misery, but my disgust has grown so much that I have to write it somewhere else. Oh, and WCT had this pegged in April.
