What can be said about this game. The Pats had a couple of shots to tie it up, and they blew it.

Only thing that happened in the First Quarter was an Touchdown run by Joseph Addai, and then the Patriots get it on their second drive and march down the field. Indy 7, New England 0'

In the Second Quarter, the Pats continue their drive, and score on a one yard rush by Corey Dillon to tie the game. Peyton Manning connects with Reggie Wayne a few times to move deep into Patriots Territory and Addai punches it in again for the TD. A couple carries by Maroney, Troy Brown becomming the All time Patriots Leading WR, a QB sneak on 4th down, and a Corey Dillon run ties the game up again at 14. A long Kick return and A Vinnateri Field Goal puts the Colts up 17, 14. At the Half Indy 17, New England 14

The Colts punch the ball down the field in their first drive of the second half, but after a sack by Rosevelt Colvin Vinnateri went out and Shanked the Kick. Reggie Wayne makes another good catch, and the Colts go up 24-14. The Patritos drive deep, but are unsuccessful, and Gostowski kicks a Field goal to bring them to within 7. Gostowski shanks a kick, and at the end of 3, Colts 24, Patriots 17

The Fourth Quarter was almost a classic. They exchange Interceptions, and Vinnateri kicks another Field goal to make it 27-17. Kevin Faulk catches a few passes, Maroney runs for a few yards, and Gostowski kicks another Field Goal with 6 minnutes left. The Colts drive the ball down field. With 2 minnutes left in the Game, Mr. Clutch comes out to put the game away, and SHANKS IT for the first time in 20 attempts, and it looked like we could see Brady's magic at work. Brady throws a bullet to Ben Watson, bringing it into Colts Territory. Then Kevin Faulk DROPS THE F**KING BALL, and the Colts intercept the ball to end the game, Colts 27, Patriots 20.

What can be said? If the final score was reversed, we'd all be calling Peyton a choker... yet Brady gets a free pass (One that didn't get tipped). This was a home game that Brady choked away... and yet we turn the other way, call it an anomaly. Gee maybe he's always been really lucky instead of really, really good, hmmm?

This is clear evidence that the majority of people are idiots. Here we are today still holding Manning's past against him, while propping Brady up with the ghost of Adam Vinateri's leg. Peyton takes all of the blame for the Colts postseason woes, while Brady gets all the credit for the Pat's success? And here I thought it was a TEAM GAME... Maybe it does all come down to luck.

Guess what? You're only as good as your last game. Right now YES, Manning is the better quarterback. tell the '72 Dolphins to sober up form the Bears loss and pack a few bottles away for later.

Better player, yes. Better leader, no. Brady has done a lot with almost nothing, while Manning has flopped with 3 top WR's a good running game, and a good TE. Brady Choked because he tried to do something he can't do, and that is he tried to immitate Favre and Manning by just throwing it up. Brady is successful when he throws pin point accurate passes to 4th and 5th string WR's, and he diddn't do it.

correct me if I'm wrong, but most QBs don't play defense or special teams, right?

i also never understand why Edge, Marvin, The O-line etc always got a free pass -- yes, the QB should be a leader and stuff, but those guys are HOFers

But QB's are Crucial parts to their teams, Look at Minnesota, Good RB, decent WR's, decent Line, good Special Teams, good D, bad QB, and they loose to San Fransisco

But those Ravens had a D that could outscore their opponents in some games, but it doesnt work like that for long, see Ravens, 2005

Don't tell me a QB needs to be great to win (Bradshaw wasn't an exceptional QB) and don't tell me a great QB can't lose (Fran Tarkenton)

For another example: compare Dan Marino to Mark Rypien

2 things, 1 Bradshaw's a Friggin HOFer, and is one of the best ever, 2. A Good QB wont neceesarily win you a lot of games, but a Bad QB will almost always loose you games. Also, Brady wasnt Brady Last night, see my above initial response to this posting

Bradshaw is a HoFer, but would you take him over Dan Marino? Seriously, I remember watching Bradshaw play. he was a serviceable QB at best (he did have a cannon arm and he could take a hit) but he was a benefactor of the Steel Curtain, Franco Harris and WRs that could make up for his inaccuracy. Keep in mind, the 2 greatest Steelers plays ever were on poorly thrown passes from Bradshaw (Immaculate Reception and Swann's layout in the SB)

Agreed, Brady got into a gunslinger battle with Manning, and he couldnt keep up. HE went out of his zone, and just wasnt able to maintain. He choked. Sad but true.

I dissagree, OT wins always foes to the more complete team, and it makes teams play to win, not to go into OT
