Born on March 1, 1917 in Grenada, Mississippi, Ike Pearson (Isaac Overton Pearson) played for the Philadelphia Phillies and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 6 year career. Pearson broke into the bigs on June 6, 1939 with the Philadelphia Phillies, and put up a 5.76 ERA in 125 innings pitched in 1939, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Ike Pearson's best season was 1941, when he posted a 3.57 ERA.
