Ike Kakela (Wayne Erland Kakela) was born on July 16, 1905 in Eveleth, Minnesota. After going to high school at Eveleth (MN), Kakela attended the University of Minnesota. Kakela made his professional debut in the NFL in 1930 with the Minneapolis Red Jackets. He played for the Minneapolis Red Jackets for his entire 1 year career.
