If the NFL Playoffs started today, this is what the seedings would be (not including Thanksgiving games):
AFC
1. Patriots (10-0) Home-field Advantage, 1st round bye
2. Colts (8-2) 1st round bye
3. Steelers (7-3)
4. Chargers (5-5)
5. Jaguars (7-3) WC
6. Browns (6-4) WC
NFC
1. Cowboys (9-1) Home-field Advantage, 1st round bye
2. Packers (9-1) 1st round bye
3. Seahawks (6-4)
4. Buccaneers (6-4)
5. Giants (7-3) WC
6. Lions (6-4) WC
Wild Card Weekend (Jan. 5-6)
AFC
Pittsburgh has more experience at the QB position, as Cleveland QB has ZERO experience in the playoffs, and the Steelers' D is just too good to be beat by a 9-10 win team like Cleveland, especially in the playoffs. SD just has no shot against the Jags, SD doesn't/hasn't done well in the playoffs lately, and I'm afraid that L.T. will be discouraged at the end of this one, as well. As soon as the Chargers have a few more playmakers on the offensive side of the ball, the Chargers will win the SB, they just don't have what it takes just yet.
NFC
Giants over Buccaneers
No way is Detroit going to win, they just barely got into the playoffs, and Seattle's passing attack will blow out the weak Lions pass defense, and Kitna will struggle. With "Cadillac" still out, the Bucs won't be able to get the running game going, and Osi and Co. will be all over the veteran QB, Jeff Garcia, as NY easily walks away with a win.
Divisional Playoffs (Jan. 12-13)
AFC
The Pats over the Jags is a no-brainer, Brady is just too good for the banged up Jags defense, and the Colts are super in the playoffs. The playoffs is what Manning lives for, so, unfortunately Big Ben's road to SB 42 ends here.
NFC
Tony Homo has learned his lesson last year in the playoffs, and he means business this year. He ain't messing around, he will get to it, blowing up the Giants secondary with 3+ TD passes to T.O. Romo is a great scrambling QB, and the Giants won't be able to get enough guys in there to get to him, Dallas wins BIG. Favre is hungry for another SB ring, because he knows his career is limited (or does he?). GB's D will be too good for Hasselbeck and Co.
Conference Championship (Jan. 20)
AFC
Pats/Colts part 93578542305. Brady wins this one, the Colts' regular season injuries will finally get to them, and the Pats will jump all over them, as the Pats cruise to victory.
NFC
Romo vs. Favre: I believe Romo will win this one (sorry Brett). The Cowboys have a better overall team, and it's Dallas' year this year (in the NFC, anyway). The Cowboys will beat Green Bay twice in one year!! WOW, that's cool.
Super Bowl (Feb. 3rd)
MVP: Tom Brady
We all know the Patriots will be the number 1 team at the end of the year, so you shouldn't be surprised that I picked the Pats to win it all by defeating the Cowboys, and Brady will destroy all record books on his way to his 4th SB Ring, and his 3rd SB MVP award.
