This article is from my new Blog. I am looking for life long boxing/fight fans to voice opinions on the fight scene. Below is a link to the new Blog. I would love to have any feedback or ideas to improve the Blog.

Sultan Ibragimov defeated Evander Holyfield 118-110, 117-111 and 117-111 on the Judges score cards. Ibragimov, likely the most under rated Heavyweight at this point, did his part in setting up the Heavyweight division for unification in 2008.
Over the past few fights Ibragimov has continued to display his ability to adapt to each opponents style. Against Shannon Briggs he showed the ability to fire quick combinations and give difficult angles. Briggs was fifty pounds heavier than Ibragimov in that fight and in my opinion didn't have an answer for Ibragimov's speed and slick style. Today against Holyfield he gave up 3-4 rounds in my opinion but counter punched effectively and managed to stay away from Holyfield's hook. He controlled the fight and showed the ability to stand in there against any opponent. His best trait is his ability keep his aggression under control and get in and out while attacking.
The Heavyweight division is constantly being thrashed in the media. I happen to believe there are some great fighters in the division, just not Americans. This is what I refer to as the Calzaghe, Kessler effect. These 2 European Boxers are in my top ten for good reason but the American Boxing fans just don't pay any attention to fights outside of the US. Ibragimov, Peter, Klitschko, and Chagaev (current champions) All have great skills. Peter is the roughest of the bunch but he has exactly what the American fans like, power. These four will likely match up in 2008 and one of the four may deliver by unifying these titles. I look forward to the first unification fight in February or March.
