I would hate to be one of these guys

In the sports world today, there are three guys who are in deep with the commissioner of their sport. One of the guys is in deep trouble with the law.

Michael Vick- In trouble with the law for dog fighting. On April 25, 2007, evidence of dog fighting was found at a house in Virginia owned by Vick (his cousin lived there). Then on June 7, federal authorities from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the Virginia State Police revealed a parallel investigation. And on July 17, Vick and three other men were indicted by a federal grand jury for "Conspiracy to travel in interstate commerce in aid of unlawful activites and to sponsor a dog in animal fighting venture. If I was Goodell I would suspend him for at least the entire '07 season, Vick needs a stern talking to, and I wish all the NFL players would behave better, and just play football. They should be aloud to party some, but need to stop getting in trouble with the law, I am sick of it.

Barry Bonds- How can you not feel sorry for Barry? Everyone hates him, he even gets booed at San Francisco. So what, he has been "accused" for taking steroids? He could be clean, we just don't know. Even if he did use them, he would still have had at least 600 HR's, and would still have a good shot at making it to the hall of fame. I know, the reason people boo Bonds is because they don't want him to break Hank Aaron's record, but records are meant to be broken, even if it is Aaron's HR record. Commissioner Selig is going to attend all the Giants home games till he gets the record, as he should, he is the commissioner of MLB, and it would be a disgrace to the game if he didn't attend.

Tim Donaghy- I don't have much to say about this issue, but David Stern should train the referees better, and punish them if they make a horrible call, I wouldn't care if it was a mistake, I would do it anyway in order to protect the NBA from betting refs. I think this is a horrible time for the NBA, and Stern can't really punish him, because he isn't a referee anymore. Maybe I should change the name at the top to David Stern instead of Donaghy.

How come this is the first I've heard about Vick, Bonds and Donaghy being in trouble?

Yeah, I know, I am tired of it too. This is the last article I am going to ever write about them, I think its the only one I have written about them anyway.

Future HR record is in Rodriguez's pocket unless he gets hurt. He seems to take care of himself so I don't see him retiring at 35.

And a long time to do it. He's 31, and needs about 7 seasons at ~36 homers to get where bonds is now. Doesn't seem unreasonable.

So did Hank Aaron, at ARod's age. ARod's doing it the same way Hank did it. Both guys have piled up homeruns by consistently having 30-40 HR per year over MANY years. Bonds did it by suddenly turning into a true power hitter after 7 seasons in the major leagues. In Bonds' first 7 full seasons (before he moved to San Fransisco), he had 176 homeruns. Aaron had 219 in his first 7 full seasons. ARod had 299.

Since ARod's first season of hitting 30 HR, he's only had one year where he had fewer than 35 (he only played in 141 games that year because of health). Compare that to Bonds, who has had SIX seasons with fewer than 35 HR after his first 30 HR season. I know anything can happen in sports, but I think ARod shows much more of the staying power like Hank Aaron had. ARod, like Aaron, showed himself to be a power hitter from the beginning. He won't need a sudden surge in his late 30s to reach that milestone.

This is like a "Captain Obvious" opinion, but yeah, I agree. I would hate to be one of those 3. Feel sorry? Well...no. They made decisions to get these kiinds of reputations. All of them are ***holes.

"He could be clean, we just don't know."

FOR THE LAST FREAKING TIME, we DO KNOW. He told the grand jury he used the cream and the clear, and claimed he didn't know what was in them.

WE DO KNOW!

Ok, Ok, he used steroids, but you can't say he did it on purpose, maybe he did, maybe he didn't, only Barry knows that. Many don't believe him, but maybe he didn't know what was in it. We just can't say he purposely used them.

The only people even worse off than these three probably are their commissioners, who are in the midst of public relations nightmares.
