I was going to do a break down of the Eagles vs packers but....

I'll rant instead. With all do respect to the Packers, who played a great defensive game, I feel I must address something I have offically noticed.

Donovan McNabb, the face of the franchise, plays with no heart. I'm going to be ripped by fellow Eagle fans, but, watching him today, and replaying some games from the past, he absolutely plays with no heart. He has no desire to win, listen to him in his press conferences as compared to others. He gets paid, comes out and half-asses it. I'm tried of it. I'm sick of the ugly throws he makes all too often. I'm sick of the inconsistent play from him in general. I don't want ihm on this team anymore. I'd be happy with starting Feeley for 5 weeks before bringing Kolb in. Or even letting AJ start this whole season! Anyone except Mcnabb.

I know I'm going to get ripped by everyone, I know it's coming, but this is my opinion and feelings. Rip me all you want. Not only did special teams cost us this game, McNabb's lack of heart did.

Once again, not to take from the Packers who definitely played great D, but we lost this ourselves. Mcnabb, please just get injured.

Yeah okay, what game where you watching? 2 Fumbles on Special Teams and about 6 or 7 dropped passes from his recievers. You call yourself a Eagles fan, you should be ashamed of yourself, you don't see all us other eagles fans ripping our QB that if healthy has proved himself he can take us to the Super Bowl. Just go get a new team if you want McNabb to get injured. Jesus just shut up and take the loss like a man like every one else is doing.

You must've not seen the game. I counted 3 dropped passes, 2 of which were BEHIND the receiver and Curtis' drop was out of bounds. I'm a true fan BECAUSE I can rip my own team and am not ignorant to think everything is OK in Eagle town. I loved how the D played, it proved it is improving. Our offense has suffered with mcNabb's constant inconsistency. I took the loss, I congratulated the packers, they proved to be the better team by winning. Maybe you should think before you post.

Being a devout Eagles fan, I am very concerned about the Eagles.

The defense will be fine.

The offense has serious problems. McNabb has been 10-11 since the Super Bowl year. When Favre got lucky with 2 passes, you could see that it impacted McNabb's play. This is VERY bad.

The coaching staff did not have this team prepared for the first game of the season. Both the offense and special teams were a disaster. This makes me wonder whether Andy Reid family troubles are impacting the team.

The Eagles ship is very rocky right now. The season can go either way.

Won't McNabb be out for the season with an injury by week 8 or 9? Having said that, I'd trade Romo for him straight up right now.

And no, Kolb does not start at all this season. This is McNabb's season. if it blows up completely, then it time to replace McNabb with Kolb in 2008.

I do not understand why there are so many people who hate Donovan McNabb. What makes you think he plays with no heart? Just because he doesn't get too low after a loss or too high after a win? That's total B.S. That is what ALL the good leaders do. I mean, do you want the guy to start crying in the post-game press conference? Do you remember the game he played with a broken ankle? How about when he passed for four TDs on that broken ankle. How about the playoff game against the Packers where set up the game-tying points by basically running down the field all by himself? He definitely showed no heart there. Or when he consistently keeps plays alive by breaking away from sacks, like that one brilliant play against Dallas (that 13 second play running sideline to sideline before throwing the bomb to Freddie Mitchell). That was half-assed I guess. You can criticize his mechanics if you want or his decision making at the ends of halves, but I simply don't understand anybody's reasoning behind questioning his heart or effort. And as for this game, lets not forget he is only 9 months removed from ACL reconstruction. And anybody in the game will tell you it takes about a year to fully recover. As far as drops go, Westbrook dropped two that you conveniently didn't mention. Yes, the offense wasn't great, but Green Bay played a good defensive game. This loss can be 100% pinned on Greg Lewis and J.R. Reed. I think you are just taking this loss too emotionally. I live and die Eagles, but this is just the first game. Andy Reid's teams have never been good on opening day - they are now 3-6, but they always turn it around when it counts.

Let me first say that I agree...but i have a couple of points:

McNabb didn't play a great game...he certainly didn't help...but i agree...he played like he usually does...9 months from knee surgery....

The kick returners are not 100% responsible for the loss...the whole Special teams unit did indeed suck (actually akers and rocca looked good), but overall the return units played poorly...however, the eagles offense did not capitalize on any of the defensive play...what-so-ever...

This was an offensive loss...and andy reid loss...

I'm sorry but this was not an offensive loss. The Packers got 13 points directly off of turnovers. They didn't have to gain a yard for those points. So 13 points by the Eagles offense should have been enough if it wasn't for the special teams.

In this day and age, do you really think 13 points by the offense is good? Especially when the offense gets the ball on the packers 38 and goes backwards?

I'm going back to Super Bowl 04 and after. The man does not play with the same drive he did in the super bowl. He makes TERRIBLE decisions, and his signature throw is when he bullets the bal.....into the ground. I saw too many errant passes today, not to mention the ungodly amount of dumb passes he has made in his career. If he would stop being so scared in the pocket, and actually want to win, you'd see a rise in his stats. I've never been a McNabb fan, I don't totally hate the guy per se, I just do not think he's going to bring us a Super Bowl, and that's what we all want right?

It's obviously impossible to reason with you on this subject. So you can go ahead hating McNabb with imaginary reasons.

because yards translates into being a great QB. Just ask Vinny Testaverde. As for the "Imaginary" reasons. Just go ahead and watch the game video some more.

You're right...we just imagined Rush Limbaugh's racist remarks from a few years ago...there's not a history of people criticizing McNabb along racial lines.

I don't hate McNabb. But he had an awful game. And looking back over 2005 and 2006, these bad games are becoming a serious trend.

I would submit that McNabb is still a top-5 QB in the NFL, along with Carson Palmer, Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, and Tom Brady.

I'd put McNabb at 4 (1-2 are either Manning or Brady, take your pick, then 3 is Palmer, 4 is McNabb, and Brees at 5). I had class, so I missed most of the game, but unless I'm mistaken, he has no receivers to throw to.

If I were Greg Lewis... I would not be on the plane back to Philly. "Mr Softie" didn't deserve a roster spot as it were, and now the city is calling for his head. I do not remember a game in which mulitple times a horrible special teams cost a team a game they should have won.
