I hate the Coors Light Fan Forum

I can stand for some extra things during a baseball game that while they annoy me, I can tolerate it. I put up with that FOX's stupid Scooter and their camera they had. I've put up with Chris Berman, Joe Buck, and Tim McCarver. But I have to a draw a line in the sand over the "Coors Light Fan Forum." Apparently, all Fox affiliates are doing it. I've seen in too many times during Oriole games this season, but have seen it on several other teams' telecast. I heard Vin Sculley introduce it last Sunday and I could hear the embarassment in his voice. How did this come about? Were they brainstorming on how to make broadcasts better and someone said "Hey let's go to scuzzy bars and ask baseball questions to the drunkest guys we can find." It's always some guy with a scraggy beard and bad teeth, who's had one Schlitz too many mumbling about the legacy of Ben McDonald or his favorite memory of Albert Belle's Oriole career. Let these guys get back to starring on COPS and let me watch my games in peace.

Rage against the man. All the sports sites are overly commercialized. If you go to CBS they pop-up some video. If you go to ESPN they pop-up some video. Its annoying.

I haven't seen the "Coors Light Fan Forum," so my arguement doesn't have much support behind it, but sometimes its good to see what some fans think. It might not be the best idea to go get the drunkest guy at the bar and interview him, but fans are the reason there are teams. And unfortunently, alot of the hardcore fans are the ones that go out, get smashed and watch the games. It might not be the best representation of the fan-base, but it's a good change to hear some actual fan feedback every once in a while, instead of just the professionals all the time. The broadcasters aren't the ones buying tickets to watch the games and support the teams.

Of course, sometimes the announcers are the drunk fans (Rick Sutcliffe).
