I completely withdraw this editorial. Greg Anderson was just ordered released from jail, meaning he probably spoke to investigators, thus leading to the indictment.

After hearing that, I feel completely different about this.

There was no way the US Justice Department was "going to let this go". With taxpayer money lavishly spent on this "ongoing investigation" and heading into an election year, this was inevitable.

I might get absolutely torn apart for writing this, but I believe it - Bonds cheated, yes, but come on - a FOUR year investigation for perjury and obstruction?? damn...

I'll admit the election year is key - Really though, it should have ended before this obscene amount of money was spent
