I don't think Barry should be in the HOF if he's convicted

Let's be honest. I am not a Barry Bonds fan. Never have been and there's not enough beer and bratwursts in Wisconsin that could even make me want to be a Barry Bonds fan. Now in the wake of recent events, Mr. Bonds has dragged the name of baseball through the mud yet again. Perjury is a serious offense that carries some major jail time and in this case, it's federal jail time, which means that there's no parole.
Add to that he may want to go into the Hall of Fame. I don't think that Cooperstown is ready for a convicted felon (if that's the case) to enter its halls. Personally, I would much rather see Pete Rose and the 1920 Black Sox in the HOF.
Barry Bondsis not exactly fan friendly. He's arrogant, rude, has an ego the size of Texas and California combined and thinks that he is above the rules that we normal people have to follow. At the same time, I want to see how this thing plays out in a courtroom, not the court of public opinon. If he's found innocent, then no harm. A guilty verdict will tarnish a record that was already tainted to begin with and no ammount of scrubbing can remove the stench. We can scream like Lady Macbeth "Out, out, damned spot!" until Christ returns. The damage has been done. It's now time to stop the bleeding if possible.
