I'm sorry I'm bad, I'm sorry I'm blue, I'm sorry about all things I said to you

Fans have a universal fault; we believe the media way too much. According to the media in the offseason, the Giants are an awful team with a bad new left tackle, a inconsistent quarterback, a new running back, and an awful secondary. After a few weeks of winning football these same pundits are too afraid to say the Giants are good because then they look like idiots for saying the Giants were bad in the first place.
The first part I unfortunately agreed with and I didn’t let my eyes and brain talk me into liking this team earlier. Here is what blinded me, the team’s disastrous ending of last year, where there was an obvious Tom vs. Tiki element on the team. I forgot how good David Diehl is, he plays the four non-center offensive line positions with ease, in hindsight how didn’t I see this working out well for the Giants? The secondary may not be great but when the front four get pressure the secondary doesn’t need to be.
Here is what we didn’t expect, with the absence of Strahan from Albany, Justin Tuck has transformed from a bust to a serviceable player who will be ready to start by next year. With Tiki gone, Coughlin gained control of the team and is able to lead with authority that isn’t undermined by Tiki and the other malcontents are fully on board with the Coach now. Plaxico is also now the leader of the offense with defenses concentrating on stopping him, even though the Giants run the same play every week that the Plaxico scored on this week. Giant fans, how many times do you see play action pass to Plaxico deep middle?
The running back issue has been solved by the injury to Brandon Jacobs, it allowed Derrick Ward a previous non-entity to become a featured back and with Thunder-thunder-lightning the Giants have 3 running backs who could get 10 touches a game and still be incredibly fresh late in the games.
Eli Manning is now a good player. He may not be the leader Plaxico is but he is a leader. The media wants you to focus on his three bad plays, when only one of them was really bad, his first interception. The fumble was held on one second too long, I don’t think of that as a bad play just unfortunate, he has good pocket presence as that was the only sack of the game. The second interception he had one on one coverage with DeAngelo Hall on Amani Toomer, Hall made a good play but it was just under thrown a little, the play was made worse by the good run back by Hall who eluded the tackle by the well dressed one. In my opinion Eli is a top three NFC quarterback right now, I don’t want to hear about Bulger or Hasselbeck being better because right now Eli is better with everything considered. I have such confidence in the quarterback right now, that I think that they beat the Cowboys and win the division with an 11-5 record.
