I'm now a believer!

The suprise of the MLB (Detroit Tigers) have finally convinced me that they are indeed for real! Sure they only have a 5-12 combined record against the Yankees, Red Sox, Tor & White Sox... but if you break those series down, 3 losses against the White Sox were by only 1 run (all games were 3-4), 1 game with the Yankees was an extra inning game that the Detroit bullpen blew and another game was against the Red Sox were they lost yet another 1 run game 3-2. Those could have been another 5 wins.
Tonight the Cards came to town. After the White Sox stopped playing MLB 2006, I thought for sure that they (Cards) were going to going to rip the Tigers a new one and sweep.
Well, that's not exactly what is going to happen. Curtis Granderson started it off with a bang to right off of CY Young Winner Carpenter in the 1st. Inge followed up in the 2nd with his 16th of the year. After the 3rd, it was now tied up 3-3 thanks to Rodriguez, Encarnacion & Molina's RBI's.
In the 5th, Tigers scored 4 more runs capped off with Ordonez's 2 run single. In the 8th, 3 more runs came across for the Tigers.
The Tigers beat the Cards 10-6 making me a believer. While they may not win every game, they are still being very competitive. If they play 7 games under .500 the rest of the way, that still gives them 90 wins.
Now will the Tigers win the Central? I don't think so... but I don't doubt that they will at least win the wild card. Yes folks, I did say that the Tigers WILL make the playoffs!
