Hugh Pitts (Hugh Lynn Pitts) was born on April 8, 1934 in Woodville, Texas. After going to high school at Woodville (TX), Pitts attended Texas Christian University. Pitts made his professional debut in the NFL in 1956 with the Los Angeles Rams. He played in the NFL for 1 year, playing for the Los Angeles Rams the entire time. Pitts also played in the AFL for 1 year, playing for the Houston Oilers the entire time.

Most people believe that 1956 was Hugh Pitts's best year, as he picked off 3 passes.
