Hugh Bancroft (Hugh Norman Bancroft) was born on August 4, 1894 in Wethersfield Springs, New York. After going to high school at Warsaw (NY), Bancroft attended none. Bancroft made his professional debut in the NFL in 1923 with the Rochester Jeffersons. He played for the Rochester Jeffersons for his entire 1 year career.
