Howie Ruetz (Howard Peter Ruetz) was born on August 18, 1927 in Racine, Wisconsin. After going to high school at St. Catherine (Racine, WI), Ruetz attended Loras College. Ruetz made his professional debut in the NFL in 1951 with the Green Bay Packers. He played for the Green Bay Packers for his entire 3 year career.

Most people believe that 1951 was Howie Ruetz's best year.
