[edit] Biography

Born on December 21, 1936 in Dallas, Texas, Howie Reed (Howard Dean Reed) played for the Kansas City Athletics, Los Angeles Dodgers, California Angels, Houston Astros and Montreal Expos over the course of his 10 year career. Reed broke into the bigs on September 13, 1958 with the Kansas City Athletics, and put up a 3.20 ERA in 90 innings pitched in 1964, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Howie Reed's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1970, when he posted a 3.13 ERA. However, others believe that it was 1965, when he posted a 3.12 ERA.
