Howdy Groskloss (Howard Hoffman Groskloss) was born on April 10, 1906 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He made his Major League debut on June 23, 1930 for the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 1931, his rookie year, he hit .280 with 0 home runs and 20 RBI. Groskloss played for the Pittsburgh Pirates for his entire 3 year career.
