Howard Yerges (Howard Frederick Yerges) was born on January 28, 1896 in Columbus, Ohio. After going to high school at North (Columbus, OH), Yerges attended Ohio State University. Yerges made his professional debut in the APFA in 1920 with the Columbus Panhandles. He played for the Columbus Panhandles for his entire 1 year career.
