How many majors will Tiger win?

by user PatrickBurke1980

With his win at the Bridgestone Invitational in Ohio, Tiger Woods has now won the last four tournaments he's entered. This is his 52nd championship in his 10-year career.

I think he's finally perfected the new swing he undertook a few years back. I bet he goes on a rediculous run for the next 5-10 years. Would you take the over/under on him getting to 25 major titles? Keep in mind he's at 12 now. The record is 18. He's just entering his prime, as hard as that may be to believe.

I think he'll win 20+ majors. I can't see Tiger playing the Majors he can still get into at 65, e.g. The Open and the Masters, like Nicklaus, Palmer, Player, etc. I don't know why. He's 30? Winning three every two years, that's another 15 by the time he's 40. So I'd take the plus 25.

as long as he keeps rocking the HGH, he could play 'til he 50 and win 36+ majors, doubling the Golden Bear... he needs a true rival, a prodigy with Tiger's soul-less heartless killer instinct, (a guy with Lion as a nickname would be fitting - lion, Tiger, Bear) who according to history's cycles should be coming soon...

Manny, you really think he's taking HGH? Or is this you just starting up more controversy?

Would HGH actually help a golfer? Manny's point about rivals is valid, Nicklaus had Watson, Player and Palmer, all in his career - four all-time greats. There is no-one other than Woods in this era that are in that league.

I'm not trying to start controversy, but NO ONE ever talks about golfers using performance drugs...I guarantee some of them are. Even credible source Jose Canseco said golfers, tennis players and some referees! (Ed Hochuli?) were using... Why does Tiger get the free pass of the scrutiny when he's the only chested golfer out there??

I really don't care if he is or not, but he is from the Bay area... like I said before the list of certified clean athletes has ZERO names on it.

HGH would DEFINITELY help golfers. More stamina, hand-eye co-ordination is improved, plus a bigger head gives you better balance on the back swing...

If a 78-year-old Bruce Forsyth (you know who he is, right?) can play two decent rounds of golf in two days (plus a 220-yard three wood from a plugged lie in a bunker across water, scrub and god-knows what else to within 10 feet), I'm sure a professional athlete won't need anything to enhance his performance.

There called performance ENHANCERS, not performance enablers... an old guy can benefit from HGH even MORE!

I don't think people cheat in golf. Besides, I can't see Tiger's problem. He's winning everything anyway, even if the others are all on drugs.

Thats been a huge talk in the news all week. Tiger came out last week and challenged the PGA for not testing the players. He also said he would be the first in line to be tested. That being said it would be near impossible for the PGA to force players to be tested seeing that each player is more of a indipendent contractor rather than a member or a union or anything of that nature.

And seeing as golf exists in other countries than the USA... It would need to be enforced on the European Tour, Japanese Tour, Austrailan Tour etc. It may all be too much to organise for the PGA.

Perhaps testing when they turn up for a tournament would be a better idea.

Even with that, tourneys have their own set of rules, but when you cannot enforce those rules on the players its pointless.

I believe that he will retire the all-time wins leader in the PGA and be regarded as the greatest golfer ever, if he is not already, but 25 is a lofty number. That's twice as many as he has now (plus 1 obviously). Who's to say he doesn't slump again, or another 'Tiger Woods' doesn't come along? The women's game is starting to churn out young stars, how long is it before the men do the same. I say under.
