How do you say 'Sensitivity' in Spanish?

11
Vote

Ozzie Guillen has continued his language excuses for his poor behavior, saying he wouldn't attend a sensitivity training despite being ordered to by Commissioner Bud Selig. Though he understands english well enough to talk to the media, he apparently thinks that sensitivity training is beyond him.
"I think the commissioner ordered that in order to calm things down, but, obviously, to attend one of those, I'll have to take English lessons first," he added.

When did he say he wouldn't attend it? I didn't hear that, I just heard him saying he didn't know what it was, and that he wasn't going to change. You're right, he is a cocky so and so. After he made those statements, Selig should have taken further action to show him it's not okay to snub his nose at things like this. This is a serious problem he needs to address, and he's treating it like a kid that just got sent to the corner.

It's as if he's daring Bud Selig to throw him out of the game.

He is not going to get thrown out of the game. He did not bet on baseball like Pete Rose. And baseball cannot afford to throw Ozzie out because of the potential backlash from the hispanic community. Sure, Ozzie may be pushing to getting fired from the White Sox (at which time I hope the Phils make a move for him - Ozzie may make a lot of headlines with his mouth, but he is a very good manager), but he is not going to get thrown out of the game of baseball entirely.

I find it disappointing that you'd want someone like that managing your team. This is exactly what's wrong with the sports world - winning is all that matters. Get thugs, jerks and felons on your team, whatever it takes to win. It doesn't matter that the team is loaded with jerks that nobody can respect, you're winning! That's exactly the reason that I, as a long time Cowboys fan, won't cheer for the Cowboys this year. It's not like they haven't had jerks in the past, but they haven't gone out and gotten guys with reputations like TO and Vanderjagt. They are really disappointing me right now, and so are you, Christof.

Bud Selig has no . . . shall we say, testicles. If he DID have a pair, we would've started taking FAR more drastic measures to prevent steroids from taking over baseball a long time ago.

i think of guillen as being the polar opposite of a thug, aswaff. yes, he used absurdly inappropriate language and should stop playing coy about it (as an aside, perhaps all those complaining so vociferously should look at how many times they comfortably toss off the same language to others privately).

however, he's a brilliant manager and from all i've read, a man who inspires powerful loyalty from each and every one of his players: black, brown, white, asian... and, i have NO doubt, gays.

unlike many other managers who treat players as fungibles, guillen includes them in the decision-making process. he's brilliant, complex, and yeah, a l'il crazy but a thug?

a felon?

guillen's guilty as charged: winning to him is paramount - uh, he's a professional manager, not coaching third-grade t-ball - that's his job!

and yeah, in case it's not clear, he should have to take that training. (in my mind, it's his achilles' heel.)
