How Lawrence Taylor Nearly Ruined Football Broadcasting

Has there ever been a more celebrated injury in football? Fate is equally cruel to the man who actually changed his last name for a college football trophy along with those who thoroughly despised this player only to have to suffer years of obnoxious rambling during NFL telecasts.
So I present the million dollar question upon the ArmchairGM community. What if circumstances were different on that evening and "the hit" never transpired? In retrospect, would it have been better for Joe Theismann to complete a mediocre football career with a reduced likelihood of ever having us endure his televised commentary tirades or is the satisfaction of watching this man's leg shattered to oblivion by L.T. worth the price paid from 1988-2006?
Enjoy the flashback. And while commenting on the above question, please share with us where you were that moment Theismann's leg was crushed by Lawrence Taylor.
